A Few little ideas

There are lots of ways we can help people who have Alzheimer's or dementia and reminiscence is a key factor, song words never leave and with the help of technology now we have access to so much. Here at Ashfield House music is very important and we are working with families, friends and the residents to create their own playlists for their Alexia's. Every residents has their own. We have already created playlists with family members for one of our residents and we have seen a positive effect it has. If you wish to contribute we would be glad of any help you can give.

I have added a few links which may help further and other ideas that are available.

National Playlist Day 2024 - What's on the Soundtrack of Your Life?https://youtu.be/6Z83NJ9bkTo

This is lovely little film about how important music is for people with Dementia

And for those of you who remember Tony Christie this is for you!

This is another fantastic audio aid, there are not cables to get tangled up in and you can predownloaded music for the particular genre the person would like, it would be a great Christmas present for a loved one if you are struggling for ideas and reasonably priced. We have set up a gift list as Music 4 memories operate a wish list for care homes so that people can donate head sets. We will provide more details of this later as we are just waiting for the codes to come through in case anyone would like to help
