I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to creating a truly magical Christmas for all our residents. I am especially thankful to all the staff for their hard work and dedication every day, but particularly during the busy Christmas period in the care home with all the events and activities we host. THIS YEAR WE HAVE GONE ALL OUT AND ADDED MORE DECORATIONS OUTSIDE. AS MOST OF YOU KNOW WE DO LIKE CHRISTMAS A LOT HERE AT ASHFIELD HOUSE SO MYSELF, MICHELLE AND BECKY ADDED A FEW LIGHTS TO THE OUTSIDE DISPLAY. I KNOW MANY OF YOU VISIT DURING THE DAY SO DONT ALWAYS SEE THEM LIT UP SO THOUGHT WE WOULD SHARE A FEW PICS.

THIS YEAR WE WERE ASKED TO TAKE PART IN THE LEOMINSTER PRIORY TREE FESTIVAL WE HAVE HAD A LOVELY TIME MAKING STARS FOR THE TREE TO REPRESENT THE STARS MENTIONED IN THE CHRISTMAS CAROLS WE THREE KINGS AND O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM. ON THURSDAY JENNIFER AND MAGGIE HELPED US TO DECORATE THE TREE AND WE THEN TOOK A TOUR OF THE OTHERS ON SHOW. MAGGIE HAD NEVER VISITED THE PRIORY BEFORE AND SHE WAS IN AWE OF ALL THE CHRISTMAS TREES AND THE PRIORY ITSELF AND EVEN WANTED A PICTURE O

KEEP THE DATE 12.12.25 @ 2PM Choral Diversity, a community choir located in Herefordshire with members from Shropshire, Herefordshire, and Worcestershire, will perform on Friday, December 12th, at 2 pm. Over the years, their performances have helped raise over £20,000 for various charities. Today is National Mickey Mouse Day, and we'll be celebrating everything Mickey Mouse with the residents by reminiscing over old cartoon images of Mickey up to the present day. Did you know Mickey Mouse's first film was released in 1928? We'll be watching classic Mickey films on our new film projector, generously donated by Michelle, and creating a cinema room in our cozy lounge, complete with hot chocolate and marshmallows.

The residents had been diligently knitting and creating poppies for one another and for the Ashfield Remembrance Tree, which we proudly showcased for everyone to see on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.

We extend our gratitude to all the friends and families who visited, especially the staff who attended with their families, which was truly delightful to witness. A special thanks goes to Marcus and Benjamin for once again facing the cold to complete the display, and to the catering team for helping to provide a fantastic spread. The residents had a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

ONE OF HER TALENTS/HOBBIES IS KNITTING AND CROCHETING SO THIS MONTH SHE HAS BEEN VISITING IN BETWEEN HER SHIFTS TO SPEND SOME TIME KNITTING AND CROCHETING SOME POPPIES AND PUMPKINS WITH GROUPS OF RESIDENTS.
