Tuesday marked a special day as we gathered to celebrate Italy’s national holiday, Fiesta Della Repubblica. This day honors the birth of the Italian Republic and is a moment filled with pride, history, and, of course, incredible food. Last Wednesday, our mission was to explore Kenchester Water Gardens in search of the ideal plants for our pond project. What began as a straightforward shopping excursion evolved into a wonderful day brimming with discovery, relaxation, and inspiration. Appreciating staff shouldn't be confined to just one day a year; it should be a continuous effort. At Ashfield House, we truly value everyone's contributions. Sarah initiated the staff tuck box for those times when a chocolate or sugar boost is needed, and it is often refilled and quickly emptied! At Ashfield House, we've enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year for many years, primarily because of the delicious food and beautiful decorations! As always, we have a fantastic menu, and the dining room is elegantly set. Since it's Shrove Tuesday, pancakes are also a fitting choice today.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to creating a truly magical Christmas for all our residents. I am especially thankful to all the staff for their hard work and dedication every day, but particularly during the busy Christmas period in the care home with all the events and activities we host. THIS YEAR WE WERE ASKED TO TAKE PART IN THE LEOMINSTER PRIORY TREE FESTIVAL WE HAVE HAD A LOVELY TIME MAKING STARS FOR THE TREE TO REPRESENT THE STARS MENTIONED IN THE CHRISTMAS CAROLS WE THREE KINGS AND O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM. ON THURSDAY JENNIFER AND MAGGIE HELPED US TO DECORATE THE TREE AND WE THEN TOOK A TOUR OF THE OTHERS ON SHOW.
